Reports have been received that Antigua flag vessel MAPLE LEA (9611gt built 2007) is drifting off the coast of Nova Scotia with engine problems.
The vessel has requested tug assistance. MAPLE LEA originally left Canada on 2nd February 2013 and we understand she is destined for Denmark.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
