Reports have been received that Hong Kong flag vessel JIN LI (28707gt built 2001) has run aground off Narra, Philippines.
We understand that salvage services are being rendered to the vessel on LOF terms by T&T Bisso Salvage Asia Pte Ltd and Malayan Salvage and Towage.
The bulk carrier, which sailed from Taicang on 25th April, is understood to have on board a cargo of approximately 45,000mt of nickel ore.
It is likely that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
