Reports have been received that Maltese flag vessel AROSA (18005 gt built 1996) is adrift off the coast of the United Kingdon.

The bulk carrier, with around 27,000mt of soya bean on board, as suffered and engine failure and is requesting tug assistance.

As a result of this incident, it is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.

The vessel is last reported to have called in Houston last month, although it is possible that she has been into port since then.
