Reports have been received that Togo flag vessel MARIA (4,944gt, built 1992) lost part of its cargo of timber overboard on 05 August 2022.
At the time the vessel was near Preobrazhenya. Much of the cargo has been washed up ashore.
MARIA has to partially re-stow cargoes, some of which are reported to still be at risk of loss overboard.
There is a suggestion that the vessel may have been overloaded and that was the cause of the accident.
