Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel COSCO NAGOYA (40,165gt, built 2006) experienced a massive collapse of containers on 24 November 2021 whilst off the coast of Japan.
The vessel was forced to turn round and headed back towards Korea, arriving off Yeosu earlier this week. Damage is being assessed.
COSCO NAGOYA was on a voyage to the US West Coast at the time of the accident. The vessel had previously called at the following ports and sailed on these dates:
Busan: 22 November 2021
Yangshan: 18 November 2021
Ningbo: 16 November 2021
Nansha: 12 November 2021
