Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel HOUEI CRYSTAL (5,762gt, built 2009) may have sunk yesterday in the Sea of Japan approximately 250 miles south of Nakhodka.
The general cargo vessel, on a voyage from Nakhodka to Ulleung, was abandoned by the crew using a lifeboat.
It is reported that one crew member was washed overboard and the remaining seventeen have been rescued.
