Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel THUNDER (33.218gt, built 2009) experienced an engine breakdown and went adrift off Hong Kong on 19 October 2021.
The crew were unable to resolve the problem and the South China MRCC sent a tug to assist. The vessel has been towed to an anchorage at Shanwei, where it remains at this time.
THUNDER is on a voyage from Indonesia to China carrying a cargo of 50,000 tonnes of coal.
