Date: 12 September 2021 Type: Heavy Weather Damage Voyage: China/Japan
Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel TS MOJI (9,522gt, built 2006) suffered damage to its portside during typhoon earlier this month shortly after leaving China.
The containership was forced to turn back and take shelter at an anchorage north of Shanghai. Several containers on the vessel were reportedly damaged and collapsed due to the incident.
The vessel, which was bound for Yokohama, had sailed from Shanghai on 12 September 2021. Salvors were contracted to handle and remove damaged containers.
After completing emergency works, TS MOJI was able to move to the Shanghai outer anchorage. The vessel finally left the anchorage yesterday and is now underway.
