Reports have been received that a fire broke out on board Hong Kong flag vessel MORNINGSTAR (28,795gt, built 2004) yesterday off the coast of Korea.
The fire was reportedly in the vessel’s engine room. Several vessels attended to fight the fire and the vessel is now at anchor.
MORNINGSTAR had sailed from Pohang shortly before the incident, destined for Masan. Prior to calling in South Korea the bulker had sailed from Xiamen on 16 June 2021.
