Reports have been received that Italian flag vessel GHETTY BOTTIGLIERI (25,063gt, built 2002) suffered a main engine failure on 24th May whilst in the Arabian Sea.
The vessel has on board a cargo of mixed aromatics loaded in Amsterdam and destined for Nantong and/or Jingjiang. The receivers of the cargo are Jiangsu Hengli Chemical Fibre Co., Ltd.
The ship’s owners have signed a Lloyd’s Open Form (LOF) salvage contract with professional salvors Tsavliris Salvage.
Before the cargo can be delivered, cargo insurers will be asked to provide a salvage guarantee. It is likely also that general average will be declared.
