Reports have been received that Norwegian flag vessel NORVIND (4,185gt, built 2002) was in collision with German flag vessel BEATE (9,981gt, built 20085) earlier today.
The accident was off Rugen island, Germany, about 15 Kilometres east of Sassnitz, this morning. NORVIND sustained significant water ingress.
Both vessels headed to Sassnitz-Mukran port, escorted by lifeboats. NORVIND reached the port at 0700 hrs, followed by BEATE which had sustained only slight damage and docked at berth 7 in Mukran.
