Reports have been received that Antigua and Barbuda flag vessel MITO STRAIT (9.910gt, built 2006) grounded three miles north of Aeblo yesterday.
The containership is on a voyage from Hamburg to Fredericia. It is understood that the vessel’s rudder and propeller are damaged and that there may have been a minor fuel spill.
It is not yet clear what will be required to re-float the vessel, although we understand it is planned that ultimately she will be towed into Fredericia
