Reports have been received that Cypriot flag vessel KALVOE (4,220gt, built 2011), has been towed to Cherbourg, as a port of refuge, following engine trouble.
The general cargo vessel is on a voyage from Spain to Netherlands. She reported problems off Guernsey on 29 December and tug ABIELLE LIBERTE was contracted to provide salvage assistance.
It is possible that claims or salvage may be brought as a result of this incident. It is also possible the general average may be declared.
