Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel RAINBOW HARMONY (22,456gt, built 2009) suffered an engine breakdown off West Africa earlier this month.
The owners of the vessel have entered into an LOF salvage contract with Tsavliris Salvage. We understand that vessel will be towed to Walvis Bay.
RAINBOW HARMONY has on board a cargo of approximately 32,000mt palm kernel expeller loaded in Panjang and destined for Brake.
Before the cargo can be delivered, the Salvors will require security for their claim. It is also likely that General Average will be declared.
