Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel SSI AVENGER (29,414gt, built 2004) ran aground off Douala, Cameroon, on 22nd June 2016.
The bulker has been refloated but General Average has been declared. Cargo insurers will be expected to provide average guarantees before the cargo can be delivered.
SSI AVENGER is on a voyage to ports in Vietnam and China. She is currently in the Indian Ocean, having sailed from Durban on 6th August.
