Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel RUNNER (8,633gt, built 1995) suffered a mechanical failure on 26th October whilst north of Andros Island, Aegean Sea.
The casualty was taken in tow by tugs MED FOS and AEGEAS. The vessel is now at Laurium.
RUNNER trades between ports in the Black Sea and Mediterranean Sea.
As a result of this incident, it is possible that claims for general average and salvage may be brought against the owners/insurers of cargo on board.
