Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel FILIA GRACE (16,041gt, built 1997) is adrift without power off Port Mathurin in the Indian Ocean.
The vessel is understood to be on a voyage to Bata, Equatorial Guinea with a cargo of rice. She sailed from Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia, on 2nd June.
It is possible that salvage and/or general average claims will be made against cargo insurers as a result of this incident.
