*****First Advice*****
Reports have been received that Isle of Man flag vessel HANJIN GREEN EARTH (141,754gt, built 2013) is current on fire off Port Said.
No injuries have been reported. The fire reportedly originated in a cargo container and earlier reports suggested it was quickly brought under control.
However, we understand that the fire is still burning and several vessels, including salvage tugs and Egyptian Navy vessels, are in attendance.
The vessel is on a voyage from Far Eastern and Middle Eastern ports to Europe. Her last port of call was Jeddah and she was scheduled to call in Hamburg.
The containership is however likely to be carrying cargoes to and from various parts of the world.
