Reports have been received that St Vincent flag vessel MARE (998gt, built 1985) is rudderless and receiving salvage assistance in the Mediterranean.
The vessel’s crew have been rescued by helicopter. MARE is on a voyage from Guluk to Bizerta.
Salvage assistance is being provided by Hellenic Salvage Tugboats Maritime Company on an LOF contract. Salvage security will need to be placed in London.
