Reports have been received that Marshall Islands flag vessel MYRSINI (42,930gt, built 2010) ran aground on the Amazon River on October 31st.
There have been several attempts to refloat the bulk carrier but all have been unsuccessful so far. Smit are understood to have a tug in attendance.
The vessel’s last port of call was Trombetas from where she sailed shortly before the incident.
