Date: 16th September 2014 Type: Grounding Voyage: UAE to Pakistan
Reports have been received that Republic of Singapore flag vessel SANTA ROSA (21053gt, built1992) ran aground in Iranian waters on September 16th.
The vessel is still aground. Salvors Mubarak Overseas (LLC) UAE have been contacted to assist after unsuccessful attempts to refloat by the owners. SANTA ROSA will be shifted to a safer place near Dubai once refloated.
The vessel is on a voyage to Karachi, Pakistan having sailed from Jebel Ali shortly before the incident. It is likely that she will also be carrying cargoes for other ports around the world.
