Reports have been received that Indian flag vessel VISHVA VIJAY (44010gt, built2012) has run aground whilst departing from Limak Port, Turkey.
Despite efforts to refloat, we understand that the vessel is still aground on a rocky bottom. Rescue efforts are continuing.
The vessel is on a voyage to Jintang, China. She has on board a cargo of iron ore. It is possible that General Average and Salvage claims against the cargo may arise as a result of this incident.
