Reports have been received that Cypriot flag vessel ORIENT CRUSADER (63993gt, built2010) drifted towards the shore near at Acar Tabya point, Turkey, after suffering an engine failure earlier today.
Three coastal safety tugs attended the scene and prevented the bulk carrier from drifting any further before towing the vessel to into port.
A salvage fee will be need to be paid before ORIENT CRUSADER can depart from the port. It is possible that this matter could lead to a General Average claim on cargo.
