Reports have been received that German flag vessel BOSTON EXPRESS (53,815gt built 1993) become disabled off the Aleutian Islands on 9th December 2013.
Salvage tug KOYO MARU has been contracted to tow the vessel in to port. The salvage tug arrived at the casualty site yesterday.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
