Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel HUA SHAN (3,843gt built 1985) suffered an engine room fie yesterday off China.
Fifteen of the sixteen crew members were rescued by a passing vessel. It was reported that one crew member was still on board.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
