Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel DEVA (40030gt built 2004) is aground off Alexandria.
The containership operates between ports in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe. She is reported to have sailed from Alexandria on 3rd February grounding later that day.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
