Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel ZEHRA VIII (7788gt built 1975) suffered an engine failure in the Aegean Seas yesterday.
The general cargo ship, en route to Iskenderun, has been taken in tow by salvage tug IZMIR BULL towards Nemrut Bay anchorage.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
