Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel VEGA SAGITTARIUS (9750gt built 2012) has run aground 12 miles west of Nuuk.
The vessel has made several unsuccessful attempts to refloat and has sustained a hole in its hull just above the water line. No crew members have been harmed.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
