Reports have been received that UK flag vessel HYUNDAI SINGAPORE (74,651gt built 2006) has experienced a fire on board approximately 38 nautical miles east of Urup Island.
We understand that the containership, which sailed from Oakland on 27th March, also lost 150 containers overboard during heavy weather.
The vessel operates between West Coast US ports and Korea and China. The current voyage number is 045W. It is likely that the ship is carrying transhipment cargo also.
