Reports have been received that Malta flag vessel EIRINI K (24,533gt built 1996) has run aground on the Parana River.
The bulker is carrying a cargo of 35,100mt grain destined for Israel and Greece. We understand that the vessel is currently receiving assistance.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
