Reports have been received that Antigua flag vessel EMS TRADER (25,535gt built 2000) has suffered a fire on board whilst off the coast of Morocco.
The containership left Las Palmas yesterday and is understood to be destined for Antwerp. She will have cargoes on board for various other parts of the world.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
