Reports have been received that Antigua and Barbuda flag vessel MAURITZ (6483gt built 2000) has been towed into Gibraltar following an engine problem.
The casualty was reported sailing from Algeria shortly beforehand. Previously she had called in France and Spain. The tug used was the MED FOS.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
