Reports have been received that Turkish flag vessel KOCA REIS (6039gt built 1992) suffered a fire on board yesterday off Annaba.
The Algerian authorities attended and the fire was brought under control. The crew were unharmed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
It is possible that that general average will be declared as a result of this incident.
