Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel MCP ALTONA (5652gt built 2007) has been forced to return to port following an incident in the North Pacific last week.
The container vessel, en route from Vancouver to Zhanjiang, reportedly encountered bad weather and a container of uranium apparently leaked as a result. The vessel has returned to Canada.
It is also possible that general average will be declared.
