Reports have been received that Panama flag vessel JIAN FU STAR (24593gt built 1983) has capsized today off the coast of Taiwan.
One crewmember is reported as lost whereas a further twelve crewmembers are still missing. Search efforts are continuing despite heavy seas in the area.
The bulk carrier was reportedly on a voyage from Indonesia carrying a cargo of mainly nickel ore. The vessel was destined for Qingdao.
