Reports have been received that Antigua flag vessel HILTRUP (6680gt built 2007) has suffered maine engine damage on a voyage from South Korea to Singapore.
The general cargo vessel, within 14 crew on board, sent out a distress signal and a tug was sent to assist. The casualty has now been towed to the mouth of the Yangtze River.
It is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
