Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel JPO DELPHINUS (32945gt built 2009) has run aground in the approach to Gwadar port, Pakistan.
The bulk carrier has on board a cargo of fertilzer loaded in Ukraine from where she sailed on 19th November. The cargo is consigned to Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP). Thus far attempts to refloat the vessel have been unsuccessful.
As a result of this incident, it is possible that a salvage claim will be made against the owners/insurers of the cargo on board this vessel. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
