Reports have been received that Mongolian flag vessel BLACK ROSE (22262gt built 1977) sank yesterday in the Bay of Bengal. One of her crew members was reported lost.
The bulk carrier had on board a cargo of 23000 tones of iron ore loaded at Paradip from where the vessel sailed on 09th September. The cargo was destined for China.
The vessel is reported to have developed a serious list following which rescue operations were mounted. The cause of the sinking is under investigation
