Reports have been received that Indonesian flag vessel FORTUNE PACIFIC XLIX (4,032gt, built 2008) was in collision with Singaporean flag vessel SINAR MALAHAYATI (12,105gt, built 2006) earlier today.
FORTUNE PACIFIC XLIX, a product tanker, struck SINAR MALAHAYATI, a chemical and oil tanker, off Banten, Indonesia.
FORTUNE PACIFIC XLIX, which trades between ports in Indonesia, was reportedly leaving the Pertamina Port in Tanjung Gerem, and the other tanker, having previously called in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, was approaching PT Dover Chemical, when the collision occurred.
This resulted in the vessels sustaining damages to their hull and bow, respectively.
