Reports have been received that Marshal Islands flag vessel ECOFAITH G.O. (44,647gt, built 2012) has suffered engine damage off Prince Rupert Island.
The vessel’s owners have signed an LOF salvage contract, dated 27th February 2017, with Tsavliris Salvage.
ECOFAITH G.O. sailed from Tangshan, China, around 7th February 2017. She is understood to be bound for the west coast of the USA.
It is likely that the insurers of the cargo on board will be requested to provide salvage and general average security before the cargo can be delivered.
