Reports have been received that Hong Kong flag vessel NORTHERN LIGHT (16,951gt, built 2007) ran aground on March 13th around 22 miles from Guayabal in Cuba.
It is understood that refloating operations will be conducted by Cuban Salvage Company Antillana de Salvamento.
The Bulk carrier is laden with 25,155 tonnes of raw sugar. The vessel is on a voyage to Lithuania.
