Reports have been received that Hong Kong flag vessel MARITIME MAISIE (29,211gt, built 2003) was in collision with vehicle carrier GRAVITY HIGHWAY off Busan yesterday.
As a result of the accident, the vessel’s cargo of chemicals caught fire and her crew were rescued from the vessel.
MARITIME MAISIE, originally destined for China, is now on fire and drifting towards the coast of Japan. The Coast Guard are in attendance and salvors Nippon Salvage have also mobilised.
