Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel PERKA (30831gt built 1988) has run aground outside the port of Lagos.
The tanker is on a voyage from Amsterdam carrying cargoes of different grades of fuel. She is now being assisted by Salvors under a Lloyd’s Open Form Salvage Contract.
It is likely that salvage claims will be brought against the owners/underwriters of the cargo on board. It is also possible that general average will be declared.
