Reports have been received that Liberian flag vessel TUTOR (44,479gt, built 2022) sustained serious damage and water ingress into its engine room after a double Houthi strike earlier today.
At the time the bulk carrier was sailing southbound about 70 nautical miles southwest of Hodeidah. There have been no reports of casualties to date.
Reportedly, TUTOR was struck twice, once by an airborne missile and a second time from the sea.
It is understood that the vessel will require towage assistance.
This incident may give rise to claims for salvage and general average against cargo insurers.
