Reports have been received Madeira flag vessel EF AVA (7,545gt, built 2008) suffered an engine room explosion yesterday whilst off the coast of Iceland.
The patrol ship THOR has been tasked to tow the vessel into a port of refuge in Iceland. Prior to this incident EF AVA, a containership, had called at Immingham, Fredrikstad and Rotterdam.
