Reports have been received that Republic of Ireland flag vessel ARKLOW SPRAY (22,868gt, built 2014) ran aground today on the Parana River off Ramallo, Argentina.
The vessel initially refloated by its own means but then ran aground again shortly afterwards. ARKLOW SPRAY is blocking the main channel and vessels transiting the area are using the secondary channel.
It is possible that claims for Salvage and General Average will arise as a result of this incident.
