Reports have been received that Chinese flag vessel LE YI (19,955gt, built 2000) experienced problems with its rudder on 23 March 2022 whilst sailing off the coast of Taiwan.
LE YI required towage assistance and was taken to Xiamen where the convoy arrived on the morning of 31 March 2022.
LE YI was originally on a voyage from Palembang, Indonesia for Gunsan, South Korea.
It is possible that claims for Salvage and General Average will arise as a result of this incident.
