Reports have been received that Mongolian flag vessel VAN DON ACE (4,409gt, built 1990) sent a distress signal earlier today whilst in the South China Sea.
The Singapore MRCC has requested that vessels in the vicinity keep a sharp look out and assist is possible. No AIS signal has been detected from the general cargo vessel since 06.07 UTC today.
VAN DON ACE is on a voyage from Papua New Guinea to Can Tho Vietnam, having sailed from Oro Bay on 12 February 2022.
