Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel MSC SHANNON (37,071gt, built 1991) suffered a fire in its engine room off Finland earlier today.
No injuries or pollution have been reported. Emergency vessels and aircraft have attended. It is understood that MSC SHANNON will require towage assistance.
Prior to the incident, MSC SHANNON had sailed from St Petersburg on 6 November 2021. The vessel is destined for Le Havre and Antwerp.
