Reports have been received that Panamanian flag vessel MAYMONA (4,255gt, built 1972) ran aground in the Gulf of Patras on 29 July 2021.
The vessel is carrying a cargo of bauxite and is understood to be destined for Cyprus. MAYMONA had previously called at ports in Turkey and Libya.
It is possible that claims for salvage and general average may arise as a result of this incident.
